Celebrating Community Spirit at Candy Fest 2024 - Kat P
I wanted to take a moment to share the wonderful experience we had sponsoring this years Candy Fest, held from July 26 to July 27. It was such a joy to see our community come together for two days filled with fun, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Our oversized Maryland-themed candy board game truly stood out as a highlight of the festival. Families eagerly gathered around, competing in a spirit of friendly competition. Watching everyone strategize, cheer each other on, and share in the excitement was truly heartwarming. It reminded us of all of the importance of community spirit and the joy that comes from coming together to celebrate our shared experiences. We also loved seeing kids and kids at heart gather around our vibrant Candy Car for photos. The colorful design and whimsical decorations captured the imagination of all who passed by, creating a buzz of excitement. Those moments of laughter and joy, captured in countless photos, will create sweet memories that last a lifetime. Events like Candy Fest not only bring joy; they reinforce the bonds we share as a community, reminding us of the connections we build with one another. In todays fast-paced world, its easy to get caught up in our busy lives and forget the importance of simply being together. Events like this offer us a chance to step away from our routines, reconnect with our neighbors, and forge new friendships. They allow us to celebrate what makes Hagerstown special and create a sense of belonging that is vital for our communitys well-being. A huge thank you to all the sponsors who made this event possible! Your support helped foster joy and connection in Hagerstown, and we are grateful to be a part of such an enthusiastic and caring community. As we reflect on the laughter and camaraderie shared during Candy Fest, we look forward to more fun-filled moments ahead. Heres to future gatherings that continue to strengthen our bonds and create lasting memories!
Driving Change: A Summer Day of Support at RAMPS - Tabitha C
It was a beautiful summer morning when Sheehy Subaru Hagerstown embarked on a heartfelt mission: delivering school supplies to Ruth Ann Monroe Primary School. They had gathered an impressive assortment of itemspens, paper, backpacks, highlighters, crayons, and moreto support both teachers and students at RAMPS. The back of a Subaru Outback was filled to the brim as they set off for the school, anticipation building with each passing moment. As they arrived, two school representatives greeted them with warm smiles and waves. Having participated in their Reading Café throughout the year, this supply drop-off felt particularly special. As Principal Funkhouser wrapped up his speech, the team quickly unloaded the supplies, including a school bus adorned with encouraging messages for the teachers and six extra packages for their Adopt a Classrooms initiative. Once everything was set up on stage, Principal Funkhouser announced, "Sheehy Subaru Hagerstown is here!" Our General Manager, Anthony Schifano, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the teachers for their dedication and the wonderful opportunity of sponsorship. Then came the highlight of the day: the announcement of the Adopt a Classroom nominees. One by one, their names were called, and joy erupted in the crowd. As they approached the stage, some couldnt help but shout, I DRIVE A SUBARU!a testament to the connection they felt. As the excitement gradually subsided, I found myself teary-eyed. I recognized many of the teachers that were there from my visits throughout Reading Cafe, and we exchanged heartfelt words of appreciation. With tears streaming down my face, I felt a deep connection to what Subaru truly representsthese meaningful moments. Back at the dealership, the room buzzed with the impact of the days events. I returned to my workstation and penned a thank-you note to RAMPS, only to find out that Principal Funkhouser had more plans in store. Kate, their Community School Manager, reached out to discuss how we could continue supporting their school throughout the year. Weve established ongoing communication and have already set up an event for October! Were excited to deepen our community relationship and provide support in every way possible.

Driving Hope: Sheehy Subaru's Impact on Maria's Journey to Healing - Kat P
Sheehy Subaru of Hagerstown came together to support a cherished member of our Sheehy family. When a life changing diagnosis hits close to home, it's emotional for all involved. For over eight years, Maria has been the strong and inspiring presence to us all, and now it was our turn to be the same for her. Our ambitious goal was to raise $10,000 to help alleviate some of the financial stress Maria is going through as she focuses on her courageous battle against cancer. Fellow coworkers and customers alike rallied together to show their support for Maria during this challenging time. We hosted a Pasta with a Purpose fundraising event, that was a huge success! It was inspiring to see not only the community involvement, but the involvement of each Sheehy Subaru Hagerstown Employee who not only contributed funds but donated their time and energy into the event to ensure its success for Maria! The event alone raised $2,485! In addition to the Pasta with a Purpose fundraising event proceeds, the online donations received leading up to the event gives us a total of $9,767 raised to date for Maria! This Love Promise Story is about lives touched, hearts united, and a reminder of the power of community. As we approach the once seemingly impossible $10,000 goal, the overwhelming support and collective effort from the members of the Sheehy Subaru of Hagerstown family have turned what appeared to be an insurmountable challenge, into an inspiring achievement. We're very grateful for Sheehy Subaru of Hagerstown and their commitment to demonstrating Subaru's Love Promise.
Everyone deserves a plate - Max C
In advance of the Thanksgiving Holiday, team members of Sheehy Subaru Hagerstown and their valued customers came together to collect over 5 large boxes of food that would then be distributed to Hagerstown community members in need by "The Hope Center" at Hagerstown Rescue Mission. This Fall Food Drive resulted in over 640 pounds of donated food. The impact of this collective effort reached beyond the physical sustenance; it touched the hearts of our community members in need, providing a source of comfort and hope during challenging times. We are so thankful for Sheehy Subaru Hagerstowns commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. This Fall Food Drive was not just a charitable act; it was a love promise that resonated throughout our community, leaving a lasting mark of compassion. As we move forward, we carry with us the warmth and inspiration that we shared during this event. The kindness from Sheehy Subaru Hagerstown brought our community closer together, showing that when we work together, we can make the world a better and kinder place.
Two Bonded Brothers - Colleen T
When her health began to rapidly decline, the lifelong owner of brothers Junior and Buster surrendered custody of the bonded pair to the Humane Society of Washington County, Maryland. These senior boys, ages 11 and 8, respectively, arrived at the shelter on August 28th, 2023. Evidently, Buster and Junior were fearful of their new environment; after all, they had not known life outside of their cozy, quiet home. Unfamiliar with the hustle and bustle of shelter life, these brothers clung to each other. They were each others safe haven through the complete upheaval of their peaceful life. Settling into their temporary home was no simple feat. Junior was submissive and reserved, hesitant of everyone. Though he shared his brothers anxiety, Buster was courageous and protective. Their seemingly opposing traits, however, allowed the bonded pair to slowly acclimate to the shelter. Junior gained confidence from Busters outspoken nature, allowing him to warm up to staff and volunteers. Seeing the trust built between his brother and their shared caretakers, Buster, too, opened up and grew more comfortable at HSWC. Nearly two months after their owner surrendered them, Junior and Buster left HSWC and were taken to Sheehy Subaru of Hagerstown for a special adoption event. The senior boys were stationed in the service lane away from the chaos of cats and customers. Once settled, the pair began to relax and even grew playful. They explored their new environment with twitching snouts and wagging tails, eager to meet everyone who walked their way. Junior and Busters newfound confidence surprised all HSWC staff in attendance, but their personalities especially grabbed the attention of HSWCs Director of Development, Colleen. Colleen had no intention of adopting an animal that Sunday, let alone two. Their candid display of love and affection for one another stole her heart, and she decided that, had they not been adopted by the end of the day, she would take them home. Due to their age and bond, many potential adopters overlooked the sweet boys. As the day progressed, Colleen found herself visiting Junior and Buster more and more frequently than shed imagined. With an hour to spare, she realized she couldnt imagine a life without them. Junior and Buster went home with her that night. Now Malachi and Jeb, respectively, the 11- and 8-year-old boys are acclimating well to their new home. Once shy and timid in the shelter, both have quickly come out of their shells. Malachi loves attention from everyone he meets, and his energy rivals that of puppies. To ensure he fulfills his attention threshold, he pounces in front of family and visitors for lots of pets. Jeb has grown less grumpy, loving neck scratches and belly rubs. For a small dog, he has taken over most of the bed and couch. He quickly claimed his home, and he loves being the king of the house. While it is obvious, theyve dealt with the trauma of losing their owner, the bonded pair have made strides, opening their hearts to their new family with tail wags and kisses.
A Love Promise Unleashed at Our Pet Adoption Event - Kat P
This past Sunday, 7 cats and 2 dogs found their forever homes at Sheehy Subaru Hagerstown for our annual Subaru Loves Pets Adoption Event! We are so grateful for our long-standing partnership with Sheehy, and we were thrilled to host this event in their newest showroom. During the month of October, Subaru is graciously donating $100 per animal adopted, up to $3,100, but the love doesn't end there. Sheehy surprised our staff and each adopter by covering the adoption fees for the event! We are so thankful for this generous gift, and we are especially appreciative of the Sheehy staff who volunteered their time and help on Sunday. We'd also like to thank the HSWC staff and volunteers who attended; we couldn't have done it without you!

It's moments like these that reaffirm the positive impact we can have.. - Kat P
I am thrilled to share the incredible news regarding the Subaru Loves Learning® donation drive at Ruth Ann Monroe Primary School. The results exceeded all expectations, and I am truly grateful for your invaluable involvement in making this initiative a resounding success. We filled the 3rd row and trunk of an Ascent with school supplies, and had a school bus full of apples to show our appreciation to the teachers! I am delighted to report that the donations were kept as a surprise for the teachers, who were overwhelmed with gratitude upon discovering that their classrooms had been adopted. Your contributions have undoubtedly made a significant impact on the educational environment, and I can't thank you enough for your support. The teachers' expressions of appreciation were nothing short of moving. As I walked through the cafeteria, seeing the joy and appreciation on their faces, I couldn't help but walk out teary eyed. Your efforts have transformed not only the classrooms but also the lives of the teachers and students who will benefit from these resources. This achievement would not have been possible without each and every one of you who dedicated your time, resources, and energy to this cause! Your commitment to fostering education and creating a better learning environment for these young minds is truly commendable. It's moments like these that reaffirm the positive impact we can have when we come together for a common purpose. As we reflect on this remarkable success, let's also look forward to the continued growth of the Subaru Love Promise initiatives. Your continued involvement will undoubtedly shape a brighter future for our community and beyond! Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your unwavering support! Sheehy Subaru Helps Animals in Need - Noel C
The Humane Society of Washington County (HSWC) values our ongoing partnership with Sheehy Subaru Hagerstown to help animals in need. On October 23, 2022, we partnered for an adoption event at the dealership! HSWC brought 31 animals to Sheehy Subaru Hagerstown and by the end of the event, 20 pets found fantastic homes. Two of those adoptions, in particular, seemed like fate. You see, numerous Sheehy staff members volunteered their time to help that day and many served as dog handlers. As it turns out, two Sheehy employees fell in love with the dogs they were assigned to that day! They simply couldn't go home without their newfound friend and made it official then and there. Sheehy staff member Dylan Donnelly adopted a mixed-breed dog named Dave, and Sheehy staff member Heather Russell adopted a German Shepherd named Hyndrix. Like we said, it was fate! We are grateful to Sheehy Subaru Hagerstown for making this annual adoption event possible and for helping us unite animals with the families who so dearly love them.
Share the Warmth - Sarah D
For multiple years now Subaru has made a generous donation of warm blankets and lunch box/craft kits to the John R. Marsh Cancer Center. We feel privileged to be able to hand out those items to our new oncology patients. It is often very scary to come into the cancer center to receive your first cancer treatment with not knowing what to expect. Our caring staff do everything in their power to reduce our patients' anxieties and fears associated with attending that first appointment. Often times we don't have anything tangible to provide to them to help reduce their anxiety. However, our patients light up when we're able to provide to them a new cozy blanket to help warm them up during their first treatment. We provide the lunch box/craft kits for our patients with younger children to take home to remind their children that we aren't just thinking of their mom or dad/loved one, but we were also thinking of them. Our patients are always so grateful to hear that Subaru took the time out to think of them during this very difficult and uncertain time in their lives. Thank you Subaru for all you do to place a smile on our patients' faces!
